Violence and Aggression

The practice has adopted a 'zero tolerance' approach to violence and aggression, whether this be physical or verbal. The practice considers this behaviour to include any personal, abusive and/or aggressive comments, cursing and/or swearing, physical contact and/or aggressive gestures.

The practice will request the removal of any patient from the practice list who is aggressive or abusive towards a health professional, member of staff, other patient, or who damages property. Cursing, shouting and being threatening to any of our staff, including our reception staff will not be tolerated under ANY circumstances. Anyone found doing so will be asked to leave the premises and we may consider removing that patient from our practice list.

All instances of actual physical abuse on any health professional or member of staff by a patient or their relatives will be reported to the police.
